Define statuses
and transitions

A workflow defines the statuses an issue can occupy and the transitions between them. Administrators configure workflows; projects assign them to issue types.

The workflow definition

The editor configures statuses, categories and transitions. Validation requires an initial status and rejects unreachable statuses and duplicate transitions. Projects bind a workflow to an issue type.

Publish and apply

A publication records the definition, author and time in a new revision. Quevell checks existing issues before applying it: an occupied status missing from the new definition blocks the entire change.

Restore a previous definition

Load an earlier revision into the editor as a draft. Publishing it runs validation and creates a new revision without removing intervening publications. Copy a workflow to develop a separate process.
